On Growing Beards

In November, I joined a group of fellows in a beard-growing contest called Whiskerino. The contest was to run for four months, but I have had to bow out a couple of weeks early (I’m working on another project of greater importance that requires my mug). Here are some highlights (or for the full catalog of my beard, go here):

(The last one is not me; someone just referred to me as Socrates.)

Now that’s just funny! I was wondering what was going on there… all answers will come if only we have patience…

Oh man… hopeful you wont get ride of it all together!

  4. You are a hero. Thank you for your participation in whiskerino, your faith in the Triune God, and your inspiration as a man determined to be more than a conqueror.

“Listen to your dialogue. Look at your thoughts. Be horrified. Be grateful that God loves characters, and loves characters on journeys, characters honestly striving to grow. If someone else was delivering your lines, would you like them? If someone else was wearing your attitude, would you be impressed? … Scene after scene is given to you and the teeming universe in the audience waits for your reaction, for your line…” – ND Wilson

You have said your lines well, so far. And you are saying them well right now.

You are an amazing man, and you inspire me. Keep on.

The play is not done yet. You still have lines. So do I. Let’s both do our best.

Zac – I just watched the video about you – linked to it from Piper’s Tweet. Realized as I watched it that I knew you from Whiskerino. I was blackbeard. I am a church planter with Acts 29 in Fort Collins, CO. I remember your last Whiskerino shot and thought – I need to get to know this guy.

Brother, I am praying for you and so encouraged by your faith. My family will be praying for you. As you said in the video – To God be the glory!
