For Brightest Results, Use In Darkness
I have a 2-million-candlepower spotlight. If I take it outside on a bright, sunny day I will barely be able to see the spot on the grass. If, however, I take it outside in the middle of the night, the only thing I will see is the spot illuminated and the beam of light. In other words, for me to see the full effect of what a 2-million-candlepower spotlight can do, I must get in the darkest place I can.
I believe it is similar with Jesus.
John 8:12 — Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Jesus claimed to be the light of the world. We can see His light anytime, but I posit that the full effect of His light is only visible in the darkness. The darkness affords us the ability to see facets of the light that we cannot see in brighter conditions.
The last few days of my life have been a dark time. I am struggling with my health, with my purpose, and with my God. But I am sure of this: In this darkness I will be able to see the Light better.

Praying for you.
I love you very much!
Ñañito querido,
I don’t understand this whole set of circumstances God has brought you through. I would like to say something profound and uplifting… but I’m not there.
I am going to say that this post really grabbed me. It IS in our darkest that His light shines and He has shined through you over the past few months like I have never witnessed before! You are an inspiration to so many people I almost feel guilty that only I get to call you my big brother. I love you and I’m praying for you. Specifically tomorrow when maybe we will all have more answers than we do today, I will be lifting you up.
Keep shining!
So you’re always really great about making good points and all that jazz, but what really hit me is how perfect your sister’s words are right now. “Keep shining!” I say ditto. Beej and I love you too!
Thanks, folks. I love you all.
I will be praying for you Zac Joanie Crawford.
