Arizona State vs. Georgia
Jake and I had a great weekend in Athens, Georgia. We were given two tickets to the Arizona State vs. the University of Georgia game. It was the largest public university in the US vs. the oldest public university in the US. We went down Saturday morning, hung out with some friends from Compass Church, and then enjoyed the on-campus festivities. The people of Athens were incredibly nice. Jake and I were dressed in our ASU gear (I graduated a decade ago from ASU) and the Georgia fans we encountered were all quite friendly. Many people talked with us and wished us a pleasant stay in Athens.
We saw the Georgia Dog Walk and then entered the stadium. Then the heavens opened up. I think that is the wettest I have ever been with my clothes on. We were both soaked. But Jake wanted to watch every second of the game and so we did. It was about midnight when we made it back to our hotel room. It was a great game to watch — even if ASU lost. We got to hang out at Compass Church in the morning and then took the short, 90-minute trip home.
I want to thank my friends from Compass that were so hospitable, the people of Athens for being so charming, and, most of all, my friend Chris who gave us the tickets. Here are some shots I took with my phone:
