Why I Like Meetings
Many (most?) people hate meetings. I like them.
I feel there are three contributing factors to why I enjoy meetings.
1. The people in the meeting: I really like having meetings with certain people. For example, pretty much any meeting with NewSpring’s Central Operations team is enjoyable. Who you invite to your meetings has a tremendous impact on the meeting.
2. The topic of the meeting: I enjoy meetings that have a clear topic at the beginning and a concise action plan at the end. What you talk about and what you walk away with are key.
3. The time of the meeting: Meetings should take place at the right time. I have found that, for me, meetings on Mondays are quite effective. So that’s when most of my meetings occur. I’m also working on making sure meetings start and end at the right time.
I have to run to a meeting now. Maybe someday I will have a meeting with you.
