Cancer Is For Lovers; or Cancer But Yet And

My last poem was such a hit that I thought I should write another one:

Cancer Is For Lovers; or Cancer But Yet And

Cancer is for lovers,
But you can’t love cancer,
Yet I can love my wife while I have cancer,
And I can love her when I don’t.

Cancer is for daddies,
But you can’t take cancer out on a date,
Yet I can take my daughter out while I have cancer,
And I can take her out when I don’t.

Cancer is for dads,
But you can’t play video games with cancer,
Yet I can play video games with my sons while I have cancer,
And I can play when I don’t.

Cancer is for sons,
But you can’t go have a steak with cancer,
Yet I can go have a steak with my dad while I have cancer,
And I can go out when I don’t.

Cancer is for relatives,
But you can’t give a hug to cancer,
Yet I can give a hug to my mom while I have cancer,
And I can give hugs when I don’t.

Cancer is for writers,
But you can’t write on cancer,
Yet I can write a blog while I have cancer,
And I can write when I don’t.

Cancer is for bosses,
But you can’t give direction to cancer,
Yet I can lead my staff while I have cancer,
And I can lead when I don’t.

Cancer is for friends,
But you can’t hang out with cancer,
Yet I can hang out with my friends while I have cancer,
And I can hang out when I don’t.

Cancer is for theologians,
But you can’t worship cancer,
Yet I can worship God while I have cancer,
And I can worship God when I don’t.

Prophetic Moment: this will be the single most influential poem on cancer the world has ever known. So good it made me laugh and cry and share it.
