Distraction Leads to Destruction
In a recent staff meeting, Perry exhorted us to focus. “Distraction leads to destruction.” In the past few weeks since that meeting, I have really enjoyed reflecting on this concept. If we are focused, we are efficient. When we are distracted, we succumb to destruction.
Remember the story of Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14. When Peter’s eyes turned to the wind, fear set in, and destruction was imminent.
So: what are you focused on? Or better yet: what do you need to focus on? Can we be too focused — so focused we lose peripheral vision?

I’m focused on using social media to further God’s ministry through my church. Sometimes I get distracted from things that don’t have to do with my job. But I think that’s a good kind of distraction. This topic greys the line between work and personal life… as if there’s not enough grey there in ministry! haha…
