Do you want to be a leader because you are titled that way or do you want to be a leader because people want to follow you? We all have positions of leadership: managers, supervisors, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, team captains, coaches — it is hard to think of someone who does not have a position of leadership because of their title. But is leadership learned or gifted?

Check out Shane’s post on leadership here for more leadership brilliance.

Shane has interesting points on leadership.

But, I’m not sure he has it totally right.

Leadership is learned – a baby may predisposed to be a leader through genes, but without parents and community nurturing the baby through adulthood, leadership qualities will never be developed.

How someone becomes a great leader is an interesting subject. There are so many variables that determine when someone crosses that threshold of being considered a great leader. Usually, it takes time and perspective to be able to make the final judgement.
