Zap! Welcome to Heaven!

I am reflecting on something Perry said a few weeks ago. He said, “There must be a reason why we are not immediately zapped up to Heaven when we get saved.” The reason, of course, is that we were meant to share that with others.

I thought of planning a vacation with Mandy, like our recent voyage to Maine for our tenth anniversary. I spent time with her planning when we would go, what flights, what car, where we would stay, what we would eat — and almost everything was booked online. Imagine that then, I hit a “COMPLETE TRIP” button. Imagine that as soon as I hit the button, a photo album appeared on my desk. Mandy and I could then open the book and there would be all the pictures of our trip. Everything was arranged chronologically as we had planned. So beautiful… except: we had never actually gone on the trip!

How lame would it be to spend time planning a trip, spend money buying everything, and even to have a compilation of memories — but not to have actually gone anywhere?

Imagine being given the joy of Christ — an immeasurable and unlimited gift. And then spending your whole life without sharing it…

I’m glad we do not have a “COMPLETE TRIP” button for life. Glad that once we get saved we do not instantly get zapped to Heaven.

We do not have to imagine what it would be like to be given the joy of Christ — because it has actually happened. May we share it!
