Hello, 

It was a joy to be able to speak again at Pulpit Rock. I concluded the series we were in about the mission statement of the church. I combined two of the four pieces into one night: extending the hands and heart of Christ and establishing a legacy of faith. The differentiation between the two was simply defined as the physical or material help (extending the hands and heart of Christ) and spiritual help (establishing a legacy of faith). (Read on …)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hello.

I had the great joy of spending Mother’s Day with both the mother of my children *and* my own mother this year. Given that my mother lives in Ecuador, this is not a common event. The kids and I spent some time the week before stealthily buying presents for my mom (dark chocolate) and for Mandy (Jake & Luke – Old Navy top; Lizzy – “M” keychain; Z – a new 19” LCD monitor for her computer – yes, I’m a geek). On Saturday we all went to the zoo and to church. On Sunday, we had lunch in Denver. That evening, I took Mandy up to a cabin in the mountains – without kids. (Read on …)

Passionately Pursue God

Hi.

I had the great pleasure of speaking at Pulpit Rock Church this past weekend. (It should be noted that when I left California, one of the hardest things to come to terms with was that I would not be speaking regularly. I figured it would be six or nine months, at the earliest, and probably more like a year before I would be speaking again. I am very thankful to God and to the PRC leadership (specifically, Jonathan and the 605 crew) for the opportunity to speak so soon.) This is what I said…

The Secret to Greatness

Hi.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to speak in FUEL, the college ministry I formerly pastored. I am thankful to Chris and the rest of FUEL for the opportunity to speak. The topic was humility (The Secret to Greatness) and the message was part of a series called Radical Statements for Revolutionary Living.
